Magne Nyborg

Prof. Dr. Magne Nyborg (1927-1996) was a professor at the University of Oslo, Norway, Institute for Educational Research. He also founded Institute of Applied Pedagogy.

After 12 years as teacher in schools, he made his research over a periode of 30 years, with focus on the questions "how to improve teaching" and correspondingly "how to improve pupil learning". His wife Ragnhild Hope Nyborg (1938-1996) helped him a lot in his work.

The "Nyborg models", or "Systematic Concept Teaching models" includes the

  • PSI-model (Person-Situation-Interaction-model),
  • CTM (Concept Teaching Model)
  • Skill learning model.
